Weblock: adblock & proxy App Reviews

This product used to be great but over the last 3 weeks Ive had to turn it off because its blocking most anything now. Complete, valid, sections of pages are now whited out.

This app does what is says. It breaks some websites but to me if you have to see the ads to view the site then its a site I can live without. Could use some better documentation for setup. It would also be nice to know which ad blocker to turn off. The one app it breaks that makes me turn it off is mlb.tv, I wish I could find out how to make that app work without having to turn this app off.

I really had my doubts but was going crazy on a word game I like to play. Believe it or not - no more ads on that game. Did not give 5 stars yet because I havent tried on other games, but certainly well worth the price for me!

Doesnt work like it stated...I follow step by step direction still doesnt block ads in pandora. All I want is to block ads on pandora but there are still ads pop up. So disappointed.

This app was great but now its blocking everything! Even things that not an ad and actually i need them so I have to delete it to make what i want not blocked or delete the link that i have to put it

High hopes for an app that doesnt block ads for the apps I use most.

Followed directions and, at first, it worked. But then... Fail. Should you be thinking about getting this app to block Pandora ads, dont waste your time and money. Edit: Bumped my rating up one star due to excellent customer service.

Seriously, this app is just a part of my wifi login ritual, every time I find a new network. No more lost/wasted bandwidth; no more irritating, insulting brain poison shunted onto my device by soulless automatons; no more being robbed of my time, webspace, or quiet. Id install this app in my skull, if I could.

This app is not compatible with most VPNs and is therefor a waste of money.

App crashes every time I open it. I cant use it anymore because I cant configure it.

While this app does as advertised (ironic as it sounds, considering its functionality) it tends to slow down loading times which is not ideal. Additionally, it would be nice if the developers could make a version (or add functionality in a later update) that can block ads on cellular too. (Looking at you, Adblock!) If they find a way to make these changes, I will be more than happy to revise my review.

It works really well on wifi but it would be nice to have support for 4G, 3G, etc.

This app is worth every dollar. You wont be disappointed, especially if you know how to create black lists. Proxy link can be used on non-iOS devices too.

Ive been using this app to block ads for around 2 years and I was pretty satisfied with it. I had it on my iPhone 5 and iPad Air. My only complaint was several websites would continuously load (the spinning little circle in the status bar) because they would continually try and load the ad(s) so you had to manually hit the "x" in your browser to keep it from leeching data (although that doesnt matter too much when on wifi.) I always found this annoying and tried copying the element/link of the ad and adding to the white list but it did nothing. I was still mostly satisfied with the ads being blocked but I recently switched to an iPhone 6 and when I went to use Weblock, after I copied the link to apply to the auto proxy it would never stick, every time I left the wifi network settings and go back into it the proxy was set to off no matter how many times I repeated the process. (All my devices are on iOS 10.2) but only the iPhone 6 was doing this. So I went into the AppStore and found AdBlock and since this app did well blocking apps I figured their other app will probably work just as well. In fact, after downloading it the process is so much simpler. Rather than having to paste the link you just flip the switch on and allow the app to create a VPN. To turn Adblock off you simply switch it off, in Weblock you had to go into the app, turn the block ads setting off, disconnect and then reconnect the wifi. AdBlock is so much more convenient and you can install the on/off AdBlock switch into your widgets section which makes blocking/allowing ads so very simple. Ive also noticed AdBlock doesnt seem to have the issue of keeping a website suspended from fully loading which is another plus. So because of this I switched to AdBlock on all my iOS devices as I see no need to use Weblock when they offer a better working more convenient experience with AdBlock.

Weblock worked fine with the iPad Pro until Apple released OS 10.2, at which point it blocked the App Store as well as iCloud. Had to do a system restore and set up iPad as a new device to get back to normal. My old iPad still works great with Weblock, but had to install a different ad blocker on the OS 10. Use the NeverAds app until Weblock tweaks the current release for 10.2.

Too long this app has been breaking websites. Sure, it blocks ads in many apps, but it also breaks many websites (e.g. Imgur albums, some video streaming, many news outlets). The pages just sit there, waiting to load, but never do. Developer needs to recognize this and either implement and workaround or at least identify known issues and make them known to users. Even their own blog page doesnt fully load.

I use Hotspot Shield VPN and this ad blocking application does not work with it.

You really dont realize how wonderful this adblocker is. not until you decide to use without just to see how many intrusive ads there really are. Makes surfing the web or playing games or whatever it is you do on-line, very enjoyable without all those annoying ads. I highly recommend this wonderful app!!!!!
